Wow. This is a first.
I'm booked for the next month and a half or so.
Three projects going at once. Unprecedented. Well, four, if you count the pro-bono stuff.
It's going to be a busy few weeks. In the meantime, I'm moving out. After 23 years living with my parents, I'm finally taking the leap and joining the ranks of the self-sufficient.
I hope I can keep this momentum going, work-wise. We'll see.

I've been trying to find motivation and inspiration wherever I can lately. It came from an unexpected source earlier this afternoon: the last question of an interview on a popular weblog.
The writers of a blog I read regularly called FreelanceSwitch (it's an excellent resource for anybody looking to do freelance anything) were recently interviewed by another blog. The interviewer, Adriaan, asked them if they had any tips for other freelancers.

I’ve hit the big time.

Whoa. Huge jump in traffic these last two days.
Why?
Because this very site was featured on the venerable Daily Slurp, as well as another CSS gallery that I've never heard of, Morpheed CSS, both on July 23, 2007.
Quite exciting! I submitted the site to Daily Slurp, but Morpheed must have picked it up from them...either way, I'm getting some unexpected (and very welcome!) recognition and traffic.
Many thanks to both sites for recognizing me! Perhaps other galleries will follow suit, but even if they don't, I really do appreciate the recognition.

New sketches, etc.

I just dumped a whole mess of new sketches into the sketchbook. Actually, they're not new, but I'm just getting around to uploading them.
Feedback on the site has been really great so far! Everybody seems to like it, which is exciting. There's also been some constructive criticism, which I'll be using to (hopefully) improve it. Suggestions have ranged from "fonts are too small" to "move this thing two pixels to the left", and while I can't implement all the requested changes (you can't please everybody), I'll do my best to make this site as good as it can be.
Thank you for all the feedback, though! And keep it coming.

Done!

My website is done! Finally.
I've tested it pretty thoroughly, but please leave comments or contact me if you spot any major bugs or inconsistencies. Any compliments or critiques are definitely welcome as well!
In the meantime, I'll be adding content to the site. There's stuff that needs to be put into the portfolio, there's stuff that needs to be added to the blog, and there's stuff that needs to be tweaked and changed a little bit. Chances are, I'm never going to finish messing with this thing, and chances are I'll stop being happy with it in about a year (or less!). But for now, here it is, for your viewing pleasure. Big Sweater Design version one-point-oh.
Oh, and I've got to do a major sketchbook dump, so look out for that. I haven't updated my online sketchbook in probably two months or so, so quite a few drawings need to be uploaded.
Goodness. I didn't realize I'd be so nervous about this announcement.
